so follow the lines and i'll be your guide CAUSE WE'RE THE LUCKY ONES ON EVERY ROAD - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Bee always enjoyed the days when the store was calm and peaceful with a few customers milling about looking at and trying on clothes. Every now and then, she’d also enjoy the buzz and excitement of having a busy store. Bee would even get an adrenaline rush occasionally from dealing with all of the customers. And who didn’t love a good rush of adrenaline every now and then? Bee also needed those busy days to keep the store open, but luckily the cash flow had been good recently and there hadn’t been very much stress on Bee’s part at all.
Today had thankfully been one of the slow days, where Bee often found herself on her laptop talking to someone until a customer needed help. After talking to Danny for a while, it was decided that he would come to the store and give Bee some much-needed company. Bee always loved when her friends stopped by the store; it gave her something to think about other than the mundane tasks of working at a clothing store. And lately, Bee had felt slightly out of touch, like she hadn’t seen anyone recently. She had of course seen Keagan within the past couple of days, but that’s something that goes without saying. The two had been inseparable since before Bee could remember. But as for all of her other close friends? She felt like it had been ages since she’d seen them. Bee’s schedule had little leeway to allow her to go out and do things very often, which kept her to herself and away from friends.
After closing her laptop for the time being, Bee busied herself with small tasks around the store that needed to be done while she waited for Danny. There were customers she could help, paperwork she could do, boxes from the storeroom she could empty. There was actually quite a list of things Bee could and probably should be doing, but instead, she wasted time by walking around the store and refolding clothes that customers had put back. That might’ve been once of Bee’s biggest pet peeves; she absolutely hated when customers would haphazardly fold items of clothing and put them back on the shelves. Bee appreciated that customers would do that, but she often just wished they would hand them to the dressing room attendant as they left the dressing room or something. Bee would always find all of the neatly folded clothes in messy, disorganized piles from the various ways different people would fold clothing. So while waiting for Danny, Bee found herself re-folding clothes and organizing shelves around the store.
It was always easy to tell when a member of Goodbye Tonight was in the mall. First, a crowd, usually consisting of teenage girls, would start to gather. Then, the crowd would make its way across the mall to wherever the band member was headed. And lastly, an observer would be able to hear the crowd’s collective either sadness or excitement depending on what the band member said to them. In today’s case, Bee saw the crowd of girls gather, watched them as they moved across the mall behind Danny and his bike, and heard their excitement as Danny told them he’d be back later. Bee had made a point not to stare at this spectacle, but she still found herself being taken out of a trance at the sound of Danny’s voice calling her nickname. Bee finished folding the article of clothing in hand before turning to face Danny and giving him a hug. Bee laughed at what Danny told her about what he said to the girls that followed him. “You should have told them to come shop here. I could always use a little extra business,” Bee replied with a smile on her face, something about having friends around always put a smile on her face. Bee couldn’t help all of the smiles or giggly laughter when friends were around, it was something that happened naturally in their presence, kind of like blushing.
“Oh, Danny, your bike,” Bee said, nodding at his bike, “We should probably go ahead and put it in the back. I don’t want anyone getting the wrong impression about having a bike in the store.” Bee was always one to be concerned about others opinions and thoughts, so it mattered to her what people passing by her store would think about Danny being in the store with his bike. Bee had never really thought twice about how conscientious she was; she supposed that it went hand-in-hand with her shyness and her desire to go unnoticed. Bee walked towards the back of the store and unlocked the storeroom for Danny to put his bike in. She wanted the bike out of the main part of the store where all of the items that were for sale were shelved neatly. Bee could be a neat freak every now and then when it came to matters of her store. Everything had to be in place and look as close to perfect as possible when the store was open and customers were free to amble around. “You can put your bike back here until you leave. There’s no way anybody will be able to steal it and sell it while it’s in the back,” Bee said to Danny as she held the storeroom door open for him. tagged , danny words , 901 notes , sorry this took forever. i was really busy with moving and then i didn't have internet :/ lyrics , every road by the maine credit , ALLYSTAR ! @ CAUTION 2.0
